Building Training Plans

StrideOn provides several ways to build your next training plan. You can:

Building a Plan from a Template

To avoid the sometimes paralyzing effect of a “blank canvas”, you can get a jumpstart on your new plan using one of the predefined training plan templates.

Browsing Templates
  1. From the main menu, go to Coaching > Training Plans > Templates
  2. From the template listing, click on the name of the template that’s closest to what you’re trying to build
  3. Review the training plan. There will be three tabs detailing a summary of the weekly load, a detailed description of the plan and listing of the plan’s workouts
Selecting a Template

If you wish to build your plan from the template,

  1. Click the Copy to New Plan button.
  2. Choose the start date for your plan. This is purely to add the workouts to the calendar. You’ll have an opportunity to specify the start date when assigning to athletes.
Customize Details

After selecting the template, make any desired adjustments to your plan details, then click Save Changes. This will take you to your listing of active plans.

Adjust Workouts

From the training plan listing, click on the name of the plan you just created. This will take you to the training plan calendar where you can add and update the workouts.

Build from Existing Plan

Say you have a beginner 10K plan, and you’d like to create an intermediate version. You can jumpstart your intermediate plan by copying the beginner plan.

  1. Go to Coaching > Training Plans > Active Plans
  2. Click the cog () icon next to the plan you wish to copy
  3. Click Copy Plan from the popup menu
  4. Choose the desired start date
  5. Adjust the plan details (name, description, goal distance, etc) as needed and click Save Changes.
  6. From your plan listing, click on the new plan to view and edit it’s workouts.

Building a New Plan

If none of your existing plans or plan templates fit your needs, you can build your own plan from scratch.

  1. Go to Coaching > Training Plans > Active Plans
  2. From the plan listing, click the New Plan button
  3. Choose the desired start date
  4. Enter the plan details (name, description, goal distance, etc) as needed and click Save Changes.
  5. From your plan listing, click on the new plan to view and edit it’s workouts.
